12:13pm – Hospital

Asher’s having a much better day today 😍

First things first, he’s been extubated!! He’s currently on NC-IMV (nasal cannula intermittent mandatory ventilation) vent settings. They tried high flow first and he wasn’t able to tolerate it so they scaled him back until he rebuilds his tolerance…

Dr Ramsey ordered a diuretic today because he’s still showing edema. His most recent weight of 5lbs 2oz (an increase from the 4lbs 12oz yesterday) may suggest that it’s the edema that has caused his increase in weight, not actual growth…

This has been his course of recovery from every surgery thus far…

His crit levels are back up to 35, which is well over his baseline of 28 (yesterday he was 24)…

His tummy is still a bit distended and they’re still holding feeds. We’re stashing milk at home for now. They’ll be monitoring his stomach for bowel sounds. Once he has them, they can restart feeds 👍🏻

Asher’s CT scan results are in. Dr Bragg said everything is looking good and his CSF levels are showing a reduction. The shunts are doing their job 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

God has been good to us and our son through everything…

We are blessed…

Ps Tomorrow’s a BIG DAY!! Stay tuned…
