8AM

At 7:30am they went to adjust his breathing tube 1/2mm and he coded. His heart rate dropped to 40bpm for approx 2min.

His oxygen was at 20%. Dr decided to re-intubate him. He slowly started to climb back up.

They had to do chest compressions until his heart rate got back to 60bpm. We’re praying it didn’t cause any additional bleeding in his brain.

Total time: 7 minutes

They’re watching/measuring his stomach everyday for infection due to his underdeveloped intestines. They call it NEC (necrotizing enterocolitis).

His brain ultrasound is due today. They will do an additional at day of life 7.

He’s currently set to 80% humidity. The goal is to wean him off 5% every 7 days.

As of writing, he’s stable 🙂

His hair is turning blonde. He’s currently sticking his tongue out. Still super active. His color looks great.

1:12pm

We are stable. Brain ultrasound came back with no change, which is GREAT news for us. Especially since they had to do chest compressions this morning. Dr said he’s looking really good. We have another brain scan on the 11th.

Dr said when it’s only one side that’s severe (right side is level 3, left side is level 1) she sees great recovery rates with these situations. We’re still praying over his brain.

We were able to feed him twice today 😍😍
