As of 11:15am this morning, Asher is no longer considered a โ€œcriticalโ€ patient!! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Letโ€™s get the day startedโ€ฆ

6:05am – Text Message

Good morning mom and dad! I had a spectacular night, even better than Nurse Kelly expected!
I still am doing great on my high flow O2! I like being between 26-30% right now and still really donโ€™t like my left side very muchโ€ฆbut this morning my PT told me I had try and lay on my left side a little more so my head stays as round and symmetrical as possible โ˜บ๏ธ
Wowzah! I didnโ€™t realize how much I was missing out on not being swaddled till now, this is amazing! Have you guys tried this out?! Momma I love my super soft swaddle blankey you got me, itโ€™s so nice!
I had a biggggggg ๐Ÿ’ฉtonight too and it left my belly feeling wonderful and ready for my feedings! I think itโ€™s really fun to hold it all in for one big oneโ€ฆget ready for tonight, Iโ€™ll save it up for bath time! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚
My head grew just a bit to 29.75, but yesterday Dr. Bragg said no taps still ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป
Ummm mom Iโ€™m also all out of your milk so please bring me some if you have any stored up at home ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹
Okay okay guess what guess what! I was such an awesome boy that I surpassed the air control test and got to have my house top popped open with no heat onโ€ฆIโ€™m waaaaay more comfy this way, Iโ€™m not hot, sweaty, or coldโ€ฆIโ€™m juuuuuust right!
Iโ€™m sitting here dictating this to Nurse Kelly while we wait for my eye doctor to show up and look at my peepers! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ for good results!
Love you all so much! Canโ€™t wait for rubba-dub-dub at bath time tonight with snuggles after! Please bring me some cool dude clothes if you have any! Canโ€™t wait to see you both
Love always
Asher! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

11:00am – Hospital

As we had walked into the unit to start our โ€œhellosโ€ with Asher, Dr Lipsky came over and dropped his O2 down to 1.5L/minโ€ฆ

Which means he is NO LONGER A CRITICAL CARE PATIENT! ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

As Iโ€™m writing this, heโ€™s hi-satting with his new settings already ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Dr Lipsky said that he no longer needs to have his ABG checked. No more heel pokes!! (He was getting them daily, and started with getting them multiple times a day)โ€ฆ

He weighed in last night at 1,800g which makes him 3lbs 15.49oz ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Speaking of last night, we got a sneak peak of Asherโ€™s first outfit ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Asher did have his EEG today. The results were the same: abnormal sharp waves but no electrical seizuresโ€ฆ

According to Dr Bragg yesterday, there is still nothing she wants to do. Itโ€™s been about 13 days since heโ€™s needed a ventricular tap. Weโ€™ll take it!!

He was also able to get 4mL from his bottle this morning, which is consistent enough for him to start getting a bottle feeding once every 12 hour shift.

He passed his first โ€œtemperatureโ€ test so the top of his isolette has been open since last night and all of his heating elements have been turned off. Heโ€™s been able to regulate his own temperature for almost 24 hours ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Eye update: the ROP has not progressed. Dr Lipsky said that if it doesnโ€™t progress by week 36 that it typically regresses. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Tonight is bath time and a fashion showโ€ฆ stay tuned to this post as Iโ€™ll update it with tonight festivities ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป
